I'm going to let you in on a little secret, a cloth diapering tip. Have you ever been out running errands and realized you forgot your diaper bag? Or perhaps you brought it, but you've run out of cloth diapers.
Just the other week, I brought one extra cloth diaper for a quick trip out to run a few errands. My toddler rarely needs a diaper change while we're out buying groceries and I hardly ever use the one diaper I keep in our diaper bag. Of course, as soon as we got to Target I realized if I wanted to prevent any leaks, I should change his wet diaper. We were in the store for all five minutes when he pooped...in the last diaper I had with me! I didn't want to buy a package of disposables, but I didn't have another cloth diaper. There was no way I was comfortable leaving him in the soiled diaper either. If only had a back up diaper!
So now, I do! In the trunk of my car, I keep a wet bag with a flat and an old cover. All three of these items are things I don't miss in my normal rotation. It doesn't make me feel sad that one of my beloved all-in-ones is sitting in the back of my car for an emergency and I will be prepared the next time this happens and won't be stuck wondering what to do!
Do you have a similar story to share? Have you learned to keep a backup diaper in your car?
