Want to make your own Cloth Wipes?

Cloth Wipes and Cloth Diapers are literally meant to go together.  You might think they're too complicated to make or too expensive to buy, but they're not.

Retailers carry a variety of cloth wipes for every budget but if you'd prefer to make some on your own you should consider checking out Youtube.  There are many great cloth wipes tutorials that will walk you through making your own.

Do you make your own or buy them?

I have some single ply terrycloth ones from Kissaluvs that I have enhanced by adding flannel to one side. I also have sewn some double ply ones from old flannel sheets and receiving blankets. It's an easy project and they turned out really cute!

I have a question about traveling with cloth wipes.

We use cloth wipes at home; I just bought a bunch of those Gerber washcloths, white ones, which I keep in a bucket and spray with wipes solution when I need to use them.

When we're out and about, I use disposable wipes because I don't know how to easily get the wipes wet to use... what do you all do?

I've just been using our baby washcloths, but I have a big pile of flannel and got out the sewing machine a couple of weeks ago but haven't gotten around to it yet. Maybe this morning. :)

I use cloth wipes out and about because it's actually easier to just throw the cloth wipe in the wet bag with the cloth diapers than to put it aside until I can find a trash can.

@Beccalynn: exactly -- I usually toss the disposable wipes in the wetbag and throw them out when I get home, which is why I want to use cloth wipes when 'm out, too... do you use them dry?

Criss,
I just get however many wipes I think I'll need, spray them down, and then put them into a baggie in my bag. We got these cool reusable sandwich bags and I plan on using one specifically to hold the wipes.

Thanks! :)

I carry a spray bottle of "booty solution", and spray my baby's booty instead of the wipe.
