Today's Featured Fluff Addict is...Nicole!

Time to introduce another Featured Fluff Addict!  This week's spotlight shines on Nicole, a mama of five, from Nebraska!

Nicole & Michael, born September 2010

Tell us a little about yourself, where you are located, how many kids you have, little ones in cloth, etc.  Hello!  My name is Nicole and I am a SAHM of 5 wonderful little monkeys and I am a cloth diaper addict.  We have Zachary 9, Rachael 8, Mary 2, Veronica 1, and Michael 4 months.  We have successfully potty trained Mary, so we have just the two little ones in diapers.  We live in central Nebraska in a small rural town of about only 1000 people.  My current adventure is going into business with my mother selling cloth diapers.  I am so excited to be a retailer in our area.  It is not common and both me and my mom have been approached by so many women interested in modern cloth.

What made you decide to give cloth diapers a try? Back when my oldest two were still in diapers the driving factor was cost.  We were spending so much money on disposable diapers for both babies that I told my husband we needed to try something else.

What were your friends and family's reaction when seeing the "new" cloth diapers and have they been supportive or skeptical of your choice to use cloth diapers?  Back then we were not living near family, and our friends did not have little kids, so it wasn't a big deal to them.  For us, it was a life saver.  And honestly it was so easy!  Fast forward five years to when Mary was born.  We started out with disposables, and when Veronica came along I new I needed to get back into cloth diapers.

What was your very first cloth diaper? With the first two we were full-time in Gerber prefolds.  Yep that's right Gerber.  And you know, they worked perfectly!  I used the pins and pull-up pants too.  I never had a leak, and we would simply double the diapers for night.  Unfortunately these did not work for Mary or Veronica, they would pee right through.  So thus started my search into the modern cloth diaper.  Wow did this open a whole new world to me!  For them, I started with Kissaluvs and Snugglebottoms fitteds with Thirsties duo wraps and the Bummis Super Whisper Wraps.

What type of diapers does your stash primarily consist of; pockets, aio, onesize, prefolds, flats, hybrids?  My stash has gone through so many transformations over the last year.  Right now my stash is all pockets with just 4 AIO that I wanted to try; and now love.

What is your favorite Knickernappies product or which Knickernappies product are you dying to try and why?  The only Knickernappies product I have tried are the One Size Diaper and I LOVE it on my chunky 1 year old.

Do you have a favorite place to hang out and talk or learn about cloth ; a blog, message board, facebook page?  Oh my goodness.  This is where I spend all my time!  I'm a huge cd addict (and if you ask some, they'd call me obsessed) and love reading about them.  I'm a fan on several facebook pages, love searching the stores and my favorite blogs are All About Cloth Diapers and The Cloth Diaper Whisperer.

What cloth diapering item, besides diapers, do you consider to be a must-have accessory?  You know, the only must-have is really just the diapers, however, now that I have a sprayer and my cloth wipes, I wouldn't give them up.  I had to switch to cloth wipes because Veronica reacts to the disposable.  And well my sprayer, as anyone knows who has one, there's just no going back to the dunk and swish method.

If you could share just one tip with someone who is just starting out with cloth or considering using cloth, what would be your best piece of advice to them?  Keep it simple and try a variety.  Even now I don't have just one kind of diaper.  Even though I have all pockets, I have different brands.  Between my three youngest, one brand did not fit all.
