Friday's Featured Fluff Addict is...Jennifer!

Let me introduce Jennifer! She's our Featured Fluff Addict and below are her answers to our interview!  She's got some great advice for moms new to cloth, make sure to read through and see what she has to say.

Tell us a little about yourself!  I'm Jennifer.  I'm a first time mom with a 6 month old little guy, Andreas, who arrived 7 weeks early giving us a little scare.  My family lives in Holland, MI.

Before Andreas was born, I was a student at Oakland University trying to finish up grad school.  I studied molecular genetics and cellular communication.  Andreas showed up early and I was unable to finish up my research.... as of yet!

What made you decide to give cloth diapers a try?
Since I'm a student loving the sciences, I also love the environment and trying to save a buck!!  Therefore, cloth diapering really interested me.

What were your friends and family's reaction when seeing the "new" cloth diapers and have they been supportive or skeptical of your choice to use cloth diapers? My sister-in-law used G-diapers so she knew a little about cloth diapering and some of the savings involved.  I think everyone else was extremely doubtful
of my decision to use cloth diapers.  They assumed (wrongly) that I'd waste money on CD and use disposables because they are so much easier (wrong, wrong, wrong!).

What was your very first cloth diaper?
I first bought BumGenius 3.0 AIO.  (I have since sold them!!)

What type of diapers does your stash primarily consist of; pockets, aio, onesize, prefolds, flats, hybrids, etc.? Now, my stach of about 30 diapers, is a split between OS and perfect size pocket diapers.  I have a few AIO organic diaps that I use at night.

What are your favorite Knickernappies products and why?
I love my Knickernappies.  I have perfect size pockets in medium.  They fit my chubby 6 month old (20lbs) really well with much room to grow.  I hope to still try Knickernappies OS and also the diaper sprayer. I love that I could adjust the flow of water coming out of the sprayer.  Awesome idea!!

Do you have a favorite place to hang out and talk or learn about cloth ; a blog, message board, facebook page, etc.? Locally, there's a CD store here in Holland. It's called Ecobuns.  Kellie, the store owner,is absolutely the best.  She answers all my CD questions and really promotes CDs in general.  I also love The Cloth Diaper Whisperer, all the
blogs and of course Facebook!

What cloth diapering item, besides diapers, do you consider to be a must-have accessory? My must haves are a wet bag pail liner for home, a small wet bag for travel and a large wet bag for extended travel and vacations.  I also could not live
without my Rockin Green.  I love the stuff and use it to clean my house, in addition to clothes and diapers!!

If you could share just one tip with someone who is just starting out with cloth or considering using cloth, what would be your best piece of advice to them? Any parent who's considering CD should go for it!  It's so easy and the products available are adoreable.  I would suggest that any new parent take
advantage of all the info on the net.  Read blogs and reviews and see what works best for other parents.  Oh, and don't be scared of dirty diapers.  I've found that anything that comes out of my little one isn't gross to me and I don't mind touching it!!!  I guess it's a mom thing :D

Thanks for sharing Jennifer!  If you're interested in being a Featured Fluff Addict just like Jennifer then please head over to our FaceBook Page and check out the Discussions Tab where you'll find all the info you need on this opportunity!
