Friday's Featured Fluff Addict is...Alycia!

Time to get to know another fluff addicted mama!  This week we're spotlighting Alycia of Springfield MA.

Tell us a little about yourself, where you are located, how many kids you have, little ones in cloth, etc.- I'm Alycia and I live in Springfield, MA. I'm a SAHM of a soon to be 1 year old who I've been cloth diapering full time for 10 months.

What made you decide to give cloth diapers a try? I can't remember the exact reason, but I do recall stumbling upon a picture of bumGenius cloth diapers and I thought "wow...those are cute!" From there I did more reading and found Diaperswappers. I officially became an addict from there!

What were your friends and family's reaction when seeing the "new" cloth diapers and have they been supportive or skeptical of your choice to use cloth diapers? They were a bit skeptical  but very supportive at the same time. They thought the diapers were absolutely adorable, and now after almost a year of using cloth they have no problems with it- they actually prefer using cloth on DS!

What was your very first cloth diaper?
A very awesome friend who ended up not cloth diapering gave me a package full of Little Beetle Fitteds, Happy Heiny Sherpa Fitted, Thirsties Covers, and a Thirsties Fab Fitted. A great starter stash!!

What type of diapers does your stash primarily consist of; pockets, aio, onesize, prefolds, flats, hybrids, etc.?
Our stash has a bit of everything in it. Pockets and AIOs for going out, Fitteds, Prefolds, and Covers for around the house, Hybrids when I'm expecting a *really* messy diaper or when he'll be watched by family outside of the home for long periods of time.

What is your favorite Knickernappies product or which Knickernappies product are you dying to try and why? I really love our Knickernappies OS Pockets, the fit is wonderful and the colors are so vibrant! I'm dying to try a Medium Knickernappies Pocket because I think they'll be even trimmer and just as cute!

Do you have a favorite place to hang out and talk or learn about cloth ; a blog, message board, facebook page, etc.? I spend way too much time on Diaperswappers.com and on several blogs, including www.theclothdiaperwhisperer.com and www.dirtydiaperlaundry.com.

What cloth diapering item, besides diapers, do you consider to be a must-have accessory? I would never cloth diaper without a diaper sprayer. You may think you can live without one, but trust me, you can't and you shouldn't! Plus you can use it for soo much more then dirty diapers! Spraying out potties, cleaning the bathroom, water fights....oh the list goes on and on!

If you could share just one tip with someone who is just starting out with cloth or considering using cloth, what would be your best piece of advice to them? Don't go out and buy a large amount of one particular diaper brand. You have no clue what you'll like and what will work until you actually use them. Start out with a trial program or buy 1 of each of different brands until you decide what you like best. But be prepared- just because you like it now doesn't mean you will 6 months down the road- trading is your best friend!

Thank you Alycia for sharing your story and for all the great advice!   If you're a Fluff Addict and you'd like to be featured here on the Knickernappies Blog, visit our FaceBook Page and check the Discussions Tab for the details.
