Today's Featured Fluff Addict is...Megan of Newly Wed,Newly Bred!

Time to feature yet another fellow cloth diaper addict!  We're really enjoying reading each new story.  You'd think that there are only so many ways to answer our interview questions but each week I am surprised and amazed at the differences from mom to mom.  Each has their own unique experiences, preferred methods, tips, tricks and stories to tell.

This week's Featured Fluff Addict is Megan of Newly Wed, Newly Bred!  Read her interview below and find out more about her.

Tell us a little about yourself, where you are located, how many kids you have, little ones in cloth, etc.-  I'm Megan, wife to Tom and Mommy to Carson, who is rapidly closing in on 2 years old! He is our only kiddo, so he was our guinea pig as far as cloth diapering has gone. We are in Omaha, Nebraska. You know, somewhere in the middle of America. In a corn field. I am a SAHM and a Mommy blogger, and love my life!

What made you decide to give cloth diapers a try?  Money!! I like having it, and I love spending it. But not so much on stuff for my kiddo to poop in, and then throw away. And of course as a first time Mom, i bought Pampers. Those suckers are $40 a box! It was insanity. And being a SAHM, we have a limited budget, so we decided (and by "we", I mean, I decided, and told the hubs to deal!) to give cloth a whirl.

What were your friends and family's reaction when seeing the "new" cloth diapers and have they been supportive or skeptical of your choice to use cloth diapers?  My family has really been supportive. My Mom used prefolds with me, so it wasn't much of a big deal to her. Friends reactions have been mixed. Some think we are insane, but I can happily say that I have managed to convince MANY friends to switch to cloth! Since switching, I have also taught several local cloth diapering classes, and have really enjoyed it!

What was your very first cloth diaper?
Our first purchase were a lot of Kissaluv fitteds and Prorap AIOs all in size newborn. Then baby ginormo came along, tipping the scales at 11 pounds 3 ounces and didn't fit into a single blasted diaper! I sold them all off, and our next purchase that we actually USED was a half dozen prefolds and Thristies cover in melon. We quickly realized that prefolds are not for us, and continued our cloth journey!

What type of diapers does your stash primarily consist of; pockets, aio, onesize, prefolds, flats, hybrids, etc?  Our stash is huge and varied. We have fitteds, pockets, AIOs and AI2s. I love fitteds and pockets the most. We use fitteds at home and pockets out and about.

What is your favorite Knickernappies product or which Knickernappies product are you dying to try and why?  I love my OS Knickernappies in chocolate with loopydo inserts. They are SO absorbent, it's crazy! They also have a very generous fit, which I love. Many OS diapers got too small for Carson, since he is so big, but Knickernappies have tons of room left!

Do you have a favorite place to hang out and talk or learn about cloth ; a blog, message board, facebook page, etc?
I have a blog that I often do cloth diaper reviews on. www.newlywednewlybred.com. I also frequent the BabyCenter Community Cloth Diaper and Cloth Diaper Swap boards!

What cloth diapering item, besides diapers, do you consider to be a must-have accessory?  Wool! I love using wool shorties and longies over our fitteds. They are SO cute, breathable and pretty darn bulletproof, too! We have a lot of Monkeysnuggles wool, and really love it. Renee is SO nice to work with and does outstanding work on all her products.

If you could share just one tip with someone who is just starting out with cloth or considering using cloth, what would be your best piece of advice to them?  DON'T buy an entire stash of just one type of diaper! Every diaper fits differently on different body types, and your ideal diaper may not end up working for you. I always suggest trying several brands and types before committing to one thing!

*A BIG Thank You to Megan for sharing!  Please stop by her Blog and say hello!  If you're interested in being one of our Featured Fluff Addicts please visit our FaceBook Fan Page and check out the Discussions Tab for more details.
