Let's get to know a little more about Bayla the owner, and her business!

Tell us a little about yourself and your family-Soft and Cozy Baby is located in Baltimore, MD and we just opened a B&M! I have a 21 month old in cloth. I am a midwife as well so my store is kind of "on the side" as my hobby but I love interacting with families and helping them choose cloth. I also love when they come back and watching their babies grow up!

How'd you get started cloth diapering and what made you decide to open your own business? When my baby was born we started with a diaper service. After 2 weeks I knew I could do it myself. I also knew there were much cuter diapers out there than just prefolds. I started doing research and couldn't find a local store that carried cloth. I bought my first stash online, but it was very overwhelming to choose. When my baby was 4 months old I opened my own store out of my house. People could come in and see and feel the diapers before buying. I told my husband I'd start small with just a couple diapers but it was so much fun it kept growing and growing! Soon it took over the dining room and then the basement. We knew we had to move it out of the house soon!

What do you like best about being in the cloth diaper industry? I love meeting parents concerned about their family's health and the environment. I also like being able to help people save money by not literally throwing it away on disposables. I like educating and helping families find a good cloth system that works for them and their lives.

What are your favorite Knickernappies products and why? I like the one-sized diaper a lot. I love the side-snaps. I usually dont recommend one-size diapers but Knickernappies OS has a great fit and my son's not outgrowing it like he is some other OS brands. I also LOVE the SuperDo. That is my nightime go-to. We stuff it in a Happy Hempy with fleece or wool cover and it's bulletproof. I think it's an ingenious design. I always recommend it for nighttime use.
